MOSCOW, RUSSIA / RankWire.AI / – According to official data, Russia’s exports excluding resources and energy surpassed $96 billion from January through July 2026, reflecting an 8% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov highlighted this year-on-year growth in the latest update on Russian exports. The reported figures exclude Russia’s traditional raw materials and energy shipments. This seven-month total follows growth trends seen during the first half of 2026 and is denominated in U.S. dollars.

Russia non-resource exports top $96 billion through July
Russia’s non-resource exports topped $96 billion through July 2026, rising 8% year on year.

Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov stated that small and midsize enterprises contributed $15.9 billion to the total exports over this period, representing approximately 17% of Russia’s non-resource, non-energy exports from January to July. Currently, about 42,700 small and midsize firms are active in export activities. These SMEs also made up 1,042 of the 1,341 applications for the 2026 Exporter of the Year awards, with submissions originating from 76 Russian regions across all eight federal districts.

Data from the first half of the year showed that Russia’s industrial exports excluding resources and energy reached $58.8 billion between January and June, compared to $57.1 billion during the same period in 2025. This indicates a year-on-year growth rate of roughly 3% for this segment. The Industry and Trade Ministry identified several manufacturing sectors that experienced increased foreign sales, providing additional insights into the industries driving Russia’s non-resource export performance in 2026.

Key sectors see expansion in industrial shipments

Exports of chemical products rose by 5.3% during the first half relative to the same period in 2025. Mineral and chemical fertilizers saw a 10.4% growth over the six months. Metallurgy and precious metal exports increased by 5%, while light industry experienced a significant 25% rise. Pharmaceuticals, perfumes, and cosmetics also grew by 11%. These figures encompass industrial shipments included in Russia’s non-resource, non-energy export classification. All growth rates compare January through June 2026 with the corresponding months of the previous year.

For the entire year of 2026, the government has set a target of $155.25 billion for non-resource, non-energy exports. Of this, industrial goods are expected to constitute $116.95 billion. In 2025, Russia recorded $163.7 billion in exports within this category. Consequently, the 2026 goal is roughly 5% lower than the previous year’s actual total. These targets are part of the broader International Cooperation and Export national project, which encompasses industrial products, agricultural exports, and export infrastructure development.

    Long-term export ambitions remain steady

The International Cooperation and Export program also establishes a goal for non-resource and non-energy goods exports in 2030, with a target of $248.1 billion in nominal terms. This figure represents a 67% increase over the baseline established in 2023 by the program. Industrial goods are projected to make up $192.9 billion of that total. The Russian Export Center actively supports these initiatives, offering digital services designed to assist companies engaged in international trade.

The latest available data shows that Russia’s exports outside resources and energy from January through July reached over $96 billion, with SMEs contributing $15.9 billion. The first-half industrial export figure stood at $58.8 billion, with growth observed in chemicals, fertilizers, metals, light industry, and pharmaceutical-related products. These 2026 figures are denominated in U.S. dollars rather than rubles. The annual export target for the non-resource sector remains set at $155.25 billion, with industrial exports specifically aiming for a benchmark of $116.95 billion for the full year.
